Stories of HipHop
March 30 to June 29, 2025
Hip-hop culture is a phenomenon that has spread worldwide since the 1970s, originating in the USA. It has shaped generations of young people, and the “language” of hip-hop is understood and lived by many across different cultural contexts. One characteristic of hip-hop protagonists is the eye-catching jewelry — oversized and lavishly adorned with diamonds. Just as important as the sparkling pieces and matching fashion are music, graffiti, and rap. A street scene from a hip-hop film will also be on display as a backdrop. The exhibition, which connects all these elements through stories, extends throughout the entire Reuchlinhaus.
